Micah 6:8 - The LORD God has told us what is right and what he demands: “See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.”

Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria, and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. It is estimated that at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition.

Do you find this heartbreaking? So do we. And we have an opportunity to help an organization provide food which gives kids hope.

Our July Our Monthly Resolution organization is 6:8 Inc. Based in Sauk Prairie, WI, 6:7 Inc provides a slew of resources within their community. We ask you to consider supporting one program: a food packing event they are hosting in October.

They are partnering with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) in this packing evening. FMSC believes hope starts with food. They are dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.

FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive, and develop to their full potential. Their process is simple. Donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

6:8 Inc. is hosting an FMSC food packing event Oct. 29-31. Their goal is to pack 280,000 meals which means they need $86,000 to fund the meals. We are encouraging our Our Monthly Resolution partners to consider making a donation to 6:8 Inc. in July to help them prepare for this huge packing event.

Each meal costs $0.29. The meals are specially formulated to take a child from starvation to a healthy point. It only takes $8.82 a month to support one child with healthy meals for the month! This means $100 provides 350 meals for a child for the year; almost enough meals to feed a child for a whole year!

Hubby Rick and I have participated in other food packing events like the one 6:8 Inc. is hosting. It is amazing the nutritional value that is packed into these little bags of food. They are formulated to be easy to prepare and nutritionally dense. Will you consider helping 6:8 Inc raise the money needed to fund their packing event?
