Matthew 25:33-36 – (Jesus said,) “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.”
We can change lives. Literally one diaper at a time.
Each month, my friend Stacie and I pick a non-profit organization that we encourage people to support. These organizations are based in Wisconsin. If you prefer to support a similar organization in your area please do so.
Our June Our Monthly Resolution organization makes diapers available to families who need them, The Village Diaper Bank. Currently, 1 in 2 families in America struggle to afford diapers for their children. The Village Diaper Bank partners with local service organizations to provide free diapers to disadvantaged families while raising awareness of the basic health need for diapers.
With a mission to eradicate diaper need to improve the physical, mental, and economic health of the families we serve, The Village Diaper Bank believes changing diapers changes lives. It’s the basic of needs that families need and helps them have dignity and safety as they receive necessary diapers.
The Village Diaper Bank began after Hurricane Harvey barreled through the Gulf of Mexico in 2017. Its prolonged landfall brought sweeping devastation across the Houston, Texas Metro Area. Homes were destroyed and lives lost. Families reeled from the destruction. The Village Diaper Bank founder, Megan’s, in-laws lived in the Houston area. She was touched by the devastation from Harvey and how her little community was deeply affected from the hurricane. When Megan asked her mother-in-law what she could do to help, donating diapers was the response.
Diapers. After the hurricane, there were so many children with no access to something as basic as a clean diaper. Megan hosted a little fundraiser for her birthday and began to research diaper need. She discovered that diapers are NOT covered through public assistance benefits because they are not deemed essential. This means low-income families do not receive any government assistance with diapers.
Soon, The Village Diaper Bank began and has become as organization that is committed to providing diapers to families in need.
The Village Diaper Bank depends on generous community support to provide diapers. Individuals, business and groups collect and donate diapers so babies can thrive. Diapers are purchased in bulk which allows every $1 donated can purchase $3 worth of diapers.
Each child enrolled in the program receives 100 diapers or 50 training pants per month with no household limits. This covers about a half month’s supply for each child. Agencies help with distribution directly to client’s homes. Each bundle is labeled so the right package makes it to the correct family every time.
The Village Diaper Bank serves four counties around the Madison area. In 2025, they distributed 1,407,755 diapers to over 18,550 children. If purchased, these diapers would cost $563,296.
A $50 donation to The Village Diaper Bank covers one child for a month. Let’s work together and support lots of kiddos this June with donations to purchase diapers! Here’s how:

Blessings
