1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were brought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Gratitude Day 968

We only get one temple; one body. And yes, it is our responsibility to take good care of it.

Unfortunately, some people find this challenging. For example, veterans needing dental care. Step in Objective: Veteran's Smile. This organization's mission is simple: fund dental care appointments for veterans.

For the vast majority of veterans who rely on the Veteran's Administration for health care, no dental care is available. A stunning 85% of veterans do not qualify for VA dental care. Almost half - 42% of vets report gum problems or bone loss. About 8 million veterans report their oral health as fair or poor.

While there are some existing programs, they are greatly underfunded, which prevent them from reaching their full potential. Many in the dental profession want to provide services but cannot establish programs without adequate funding. Objective: Veteran's Smile provides an opportunity for corporate and individual donors interested in supporting healthcare services for veterans and help with their needs. They partner with Delta Dental & Physicians Mutual to provide dental services for vets.

Lord God - When there is a slice of society that has a need, thank you for placing it upon people's hearts a desire to help. May we help provide oral care for veterans as we support this organization during November. Bless the work that they do. Amen.
